About
The Megha Climate Collaborative works at the intersection of gender equity, climate change and public governance. It seeks to empower women leaders, promote sustainable water resource management, and enhance community resilience to floods in Bihar, India.
Our research agenda aims to determine if training elected women representatives in political deliberation and the science of flood risks improves their agency with the State and local communities to implement flood-resilient solutions to climate change.
It is an important development imperative to understand how climate change differentially impacts women and the role that women can play in leading adaptation to climate change.
The Megha Climate Collaborative Project is the recipient of the Climate Collaboratives Grand Challenges Research Initiatives Award to combat climate change. This project is funded by the University of Virginia’s Environmental Institute.
