About 23 training workshops were held across Darbhanga district through June, July and August for elected women representatives from the district. Held for three consecutive days in different blocks of the district, the workshops introduced about 518 elected women to different aspects of the public governance system, disaster preparedness and management, and gender equity. The workshop used an activity-based pedagogy to enhance understanding among these elected women, who are also largely uneducated and have little or no exposure outside their village communities. The training imparted in these bootcamps will be further fortified through smaller cluster meetings, to be held every quarter, starting October 2024 and through 2025 and 2026.
